Of Guilds and Bots
Happy Sunday!
This week I had the chance to join the CuseCon Designer Guild and try out some prototypes. It was my first time at a designer meetup, and the group was warm and welcoming. I was duly impressed! I tried games outside my usual comfort zone and shared ideas from my perspective as a stubborn middle-aged solo train player. I hadn't been to a community game group since 2020. It was good to get back in the scene and meet some great people.
Meanwhile, I’ve been polishing the version 1.5 ruleset. A few extra sets of eyes are reviewing it, so my hope is that this release is more polished than 1.0. The rules have been shifted more to prose over charts and it tends to read better. I will have a separate player aid that keeps the chart format for quick reference.
This rulebook is now the base for the ChatGPT agent which is live. You can ask questions, learn the game, and test it out. It’s a handy way to explore the game, and I plan to keep refining it as I consider it a definitive source for players who need an answer in real time.
All that said, I don’t have a new weekly map this time. But the fresh content - still compatible with the original one-player sheet that started it all - should keep you busy.
Thank you for your support, and happy railroading!
